Sessions & Fees

Establishing a trusted and confidential relationship in therapy is important. I offer a free fifteen minute telephone consultation to help you get a sense of how I work and whether the approaches I offer can help you.

If you choose to work with me, the next step is an assessment session.

I am based in Hampshire, just south of Winchester. I offer both face-to-face and online sessions.

Assessment

In the assessment appointment we will discuss your goals for therapy and the context that surrounds your current difficulties. This may include consideration of your relationships, support network, health, family history, past experiences and personal strengths. This is will help us plan your therapy.

The assessment session lasts 90 minutes and costs £165.

Therapy

In therapy we will work together to explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are linked to your current difficulties. We will consider how these may be influenced by past experiences, and help you find ways of managing and making positive changes in your life.

As a Clinical Psychologist I am trained to use a variety of different psychological therapies, including cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic and systemic approaches. My practice is to integrate them where appropriate, based on your preferences and what the research indicates.

Some people benefit from short term therapies, and some may need longer. I tend to encourage weekly sessions initially to establish trust and momentum in the work, but do offer fortnightly or monthly appointments if more appropriate. We will regularly review your therapy goals and progress to ensure the sessions are helpful. Partners or family members are welcome to join therapy sessions if you think this would be beneficial.

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes and cost £110.

Payment & Cancellations

Payments are made via bank transfer on the day of the appointment. I understand that sometimes you may need to cancel or reschedule, and ask that you give at least 24 hours notice. Appointments that are not attended, or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged in full.

I am a registered practitioner with the following companies:

If you are using your health insurance, I will ask for the authorisation number provided by your insurer.
